Give Blood Give Life
Last saturday, I donated my blood for the first time. And now, i am officially a blood donor =)
Many people think that giving blood is a very hard and painful process. As quoted by my good friend "You might die because of giving too much blood!" (Koh Thye Leng, 2008)
But honestly, it really isn't that bad. I admit at the beginning it was a little uncomfortable, but it's only for a shortwhile. But really what is a little pain? When you know you are saving 3 lives? And there are benefits too. In an unfortuanate event, if a blood donor meets with an accident, or is in need of blood, he/she is given the priority if there is a shortage of blood in the hospital.
And it is actually healthy to give your blood too, research has shown that the process of regenerating your blood is actually good for your body. Don't worry you won't die giving your blood!
Someone once said, "Life is in the blood". Everytime you give your blood to someone who needs it, you are actually giving that person another hope and chance to live again.
Luke 22:19-20 (NKJV)
19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.
-Yesterday we took the risk. Today its a dream. Tomorrow its reality =)
