JYing

This post is dedicated to Jing Ying (the girl above)

Jing Ying!

Really happy happy birthday to you! Gosh, it's been amazing the past year hasn't it? From mugging in riverwallk/burger king for O'levels, to tanglin prayer focus, to ngee ann prayer focus, it has really been an experience seeing you grow. At such a rapid rate.

Just want to say I am really proud of you. Although at times I don't know how to say or express it. But I really am, looking at where you are now, and all the wonderful things that you are doing for the glory of God.

Thanks for all the help that you have given in making selfless shoe a reality. Your hard work and determination never fails to inspire and motivate me to do even more. God has really transfomed you radically. From the past and now, gosh it's really to the extent that I can't even recognise you anymore. The hello panda's days are truly over.

How Great?

So I was just reading up on wikipedia today. Found some really interesting and intriguing facts that kept me thinking.
I searched up for universe. And this was what I found:
"The Universe is defined as everything that physically exist: the entirety of space and time, all forms of matter, energy and momentum, and the physical laws and constants that govern them. However, the term "universe" may be used in slightly different contextual senses, denoting such concepts as the cosmos, the world or Nature.
Astronomical observations indicate that the universe is 13.73 ± 0.12 billion years old and at least 93 billion light years across."
Amazing isn' it? It takes 93 billion light years to travel from one end of the universe to the other! Some additional facts, the speed of light in a vacuum is exactly 299,792,458 metres per second, (or 299, 792. 458 Kilometes per second). And at that speed, the speed of light, it takes 93 BILLION YEARS to get to the other end!
It left me thinking, how could we ever travel to the end of the universe. It is literally impossible for humans to ever do that! And at that very moment, I was reminded. That is how great the creator of the universe is. How can we ever measure His greatess. No human mind can ever perceive. His glory, His Majesty, His power.

And I thought to myself, what is so great? And what is too difficult that He cannot resolve? He is the Almighty! The Creator. The Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last! Time is in His hands.

Then I smiled, and remembered, He is my best friend =)

Exodus 18:11 (NKJV)

11 Now I know that the LORD is greater than all the gods; for in the very thing in which they behaved proudly, He was above them.”

Twinkle's Day

This post is dedicated to Twinkle (the girl on the right).

Happy birthday Twinkle! Wow, you are 16 years old already. Time really flies doesn't it? Gosh, I still remember those day when you were still that lower secondary school girl.

But like that song we sang just now, you really have grown in the Lord. And change a lot too! Oh my gosh, the cold warrior days! I remember those days when you will sit at one corner and "emo". But God is good isn't He? Hahas. He really took care of you.

Even though I still make fun of you at times (well almost all the time), I just want to say this, you have really changed a lot. You are so different now! More happy, more mature, more optimistic, more on fire for God.

Like I said earlier on, one thing I really am amazed by you, is your faithfulness to God even in the toughest times. I know its not easy. This year is another important year, O' levels! But you are not wavering. Instead, you are consistent in the House of God. And I believe that is really a quality that can be found in very few people. Matthew 20:16 "So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.” And even fewer are found to be faithful.

Keep it up, I can't wait to see how God is going to use you in time to come! =)

South China

Hey guys, sorry that i didn't post for such a long time. Was away in South China for 2 weeks. Just got back yesterday.

Well the trip was really amazing. Though I can't go to details about what exactly happened there, all i can say is this trip really made me learn a lot of things. My physical body is back in Singapore, but really, my heart is still with China. It's just the cry and hunger for love that keeps me up at night. Who would have thought even such a mighty nation like China, would have such needs.

Some people have told me, "China is already doing so well now! Why not go somewhere else?"

Well, from what i saw when I was there just 2 days ago, "doing well" did not really match or fit into that sentence. The needs are great. Even though there was 26 of us there, we could not meet every need.

Then i begin to ask myself this question again, "what can one man do?"

Mark 10:27 (NKJV)
27 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”
