What do you have in your hands?
This is the continuation of the previou post, so I strongly advise you to read that first before reading this =)
We all know that David faced his Giant, Goliath. And at one point or another we too, will come face to face with our's. However, it is crucial for you to understand that, you must first be equipped before going into this battle.
It is true, we must all face our problems, difficulties and challenges one day. And have enough faith to overcome it. However, no one should ever go to a battle unprepared, empty-handed. It is self-deception, if anyone thinks coming against Goliath is going to be easy. Over confidence is the sure-est way to sabotage oneself. That's why it's important to always keep yourself in check. Am i ready? What's the plan? Do i have what i need?
I'm sure David understood that. He wasn't slack with his prep work. And neither did he allow his emotions to over-rule his actions and behaviour. He had full knowledge of who he was dealing with and what he was up against.
But most importanty he did not look at what he did not have (e.g. size), but instead he identified what he had. See, that was the secret, many times people procrastinate becaus they think they dont have what it takes to solve the problem. Instead of looking at what they had! David had his 5 stones and a sling. He did not despise what he had in his hands. Moses had a rod, that he used to tend the sheeps, but when he used it, it parted the red sea. 5 loaves and 2 fish was a boy's lunch, it fed a multitude of 5000.
What do you have in your hands? Sometimes, its not about having what you want, but its wanting what you have.
2 Cor 4:7-10
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. 8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.
-you're always there =)
